"Fools in April" is an April Fool's Day-themed episode of the animated series SpongeBob Squarepants.
Synopsis
It's April Fool's Day, and SpongeBob is shown playing a few jokes on Gary. However, when Squidward finds out it's April Fool's day, he gets worried since it was SpongeBob's favorite holiday, so he tries to call in sick from work. But Mr. Krabs tells him that a famous artist was at the Krusty Krab and wanted to talk to him. But when Squidward arrives, he finds out it was a joke. When Squidward warns SpongeBob not to play any jokes on him, Spongebob promises not to do anything to him, right when Mr. Krabs sits down on a whoopee cushion SpongeBob put on his chair. After that, SpongeBob starts pulling pranks on customers, much to Squidward's annoyance, so Squidward decides to play a prank on SpongeBob. But when the prank's over, SpongeBob gets upset and runs out of the Krusty Krab crying. Squidward feels bad about what he did and decides to apologize. When he gets to SpongeBob's house, SpongeBob won't let him in. After SpongeBob opens the door, Squidward tries to apologize, but has trouble doing it, presumably because he never apologized before. After failed attempts to apologize indirectly, he says "sorry" to SpongeBob with a bubble over his head, making SpongeBob not able to hear him. But as Squidward walks away, he feels guilty about not really apologizing and runs back and shouts out his apology and saying he likes him and all the other characters, but then it revealed to all be a big April Fool's prank.
